Booking System |
A booking chart for the following calendar
year is circulated in agreed priority order, before the owners’
annual meeting. Subject to the rules about Special Shares
(please see below), each owner has a priority for that year, and
moves up broadly a couple of places each year, as part of a
six-year cycle.
(To be precise, they swap places annually with the share next to them, as the pair move together up the list.) After a year at the top of the list, the pair goes to the bottom for the next year, to start the 6-year cycle again. Each owner can choose two weeks (separately or as a fortnight) in the ‘high season’ (April to September inclusive), as well as one week in the remainder of the year. Once this process is complete for all shares, owners then may choose a fourth week if they wish, but this is done in REVERSE order so that those who got last choice for their first three weeks get first choice for their fourth. Typically two weeks are allowed for winter maintenance. Any remaining weeks, plus any that arise during the year if share-owners cannot use them, are available for other syndicate members to apply for. |
|
Priority for school holidays |
There can be up to three designated "special" shares which have priority booking of school holiday weeks and pay a higher proportion of the costs than "ordinary" shares thus reducing the other ordinary share contributions. |

General comments about the boat | ||
Boarding from the rear you enter a semi trad
stern with single locker on LHS storing gas bottles. On the RHS is
the lifebelt. Raising the deck boards allows access to the engine,
domestic battery, starter battery and weed hatch. Downstairs into the rear bedroom. To the left is an en-suite fresh water flushing WC with basin. Forward is the central heating controls, a wardrobe then a fixed double bed that can extend to king-size. There is also a flat screen TV in bedroom. There are under bed drawers and storage above the head of the bed. After the bedroom, there is a corridor off of which there is a wardrobe then the bathroom with fresh water flushing WC, basin, and corner bath with overhead shower. On the corridor wall opposite the bathroom there is storage for the two table tops. Continuing forward you enter the fully fitted galley with a four ring hob, oven, grill, fridge, separate freezer and microwave along with ample storage cupboards and drawers. Opposite the galley is a large side hatch which can be fitted with a removable perspex screen. Between the kitchen and the saloon there is a storage cupboard for clothes. You then enter the main saloon with its table and L shaped seating, which converts to a double bed. Forward there are two easy chairs that convert into beds, a solid fuel burning stove, Satellite TV, radio, DVD and CD player with speakers throughout boat for Radio/CD. Four panel wood /glass French doors open out onto the bow deck where there are three lockers. These can be used for seating, using the leather pads, around a small table. They are also used to access the forward bow thrusters and for storing solid fuel / hosepipe etc. The water tank is in the bow. |

This is your opportunity to obtain a 1/12 ordinary share in Ryebank, a first class well specified and maintained boat, and to join a very friendly and efficient syndicate. The syndicate is self managed and this helps to significantly reduce overall costs. The various tasks involved in self-management are shared between the owners where time and choice allow. This arrangement works extremely well for all owners. Prospective owners are required to agree the terms that are laid down in a “Syndicate Agreement”. This is a realistic document designed to safeguard all aspects of shared ownership. Ryebank has its own private Yahoo Group web site which contains a wealth of information about all aspects of the boat and which can be used by all owners to keep others abreast of all the latest news regarding their joint asset. This can be found here. ( http://uk.groups.yahoo.com/group/nbRyebank ) An annual general meeting of all owners usually takes place in late October or during November of each year. During the meeting the owners agree expenditure, improvements and moorings for the following year, along with any other issues owners may wish to raise. Payment of annual fees is made before 31st December.
