Booking System |
A booking chart for the
following calendar year is circulated, starting in August,
in agreed priority order, and bookings are confirmed at the
owners' annual meeting in October.
Each owner has a priority and moves up a couple of places
each year, reverting to the bottom of the list after a year
at the top.
Each owner chooses two weeks, separately or as fortnight, in
the 'high season' (April to September, based on change-over
days) and one week in the remainder of the year. Subject to
a period designated for winter maintenance, the remaining
weeks are offered with priority in reverse order to the
original chart.
Extra bookings outside the above are confirmed on the first
day of the month before the month of the booking, priority
again being in reverse order if more than one owner requests
the same date.
|
Priority for school holidays |
A maximum of two designated 'special'
shares have priority booking of school holiday weeks and pay a higher
proportion of the costs than 'ordinary shares' thus reducing the other
ten shares' contributions.

General comments about the boat |
Starting at the semi trad stern, down the steps leads to the rear
galley and dinette area where you will find a gas oven and hob, full
size sink/drainer with storage underneath, 12volt fridge with
freezer compartment, separate storage cupboard, solid fuel stove,
side hatch and dinette that converts to a double bed. This is the
heart of the living area offering a cosy area even on a windy
winter's day.
Beyond this area a corridor (where a see-through 'window' is stored
that can be fitted into the side hatch) - a door on the right leads
to the bathroom with its corner bath with shower over, pump out
toilet, hand basin with storage underneath and wall storage
cupboard'
Another door now leads past the Alde central heating boiler into the
master double bedroom which can be extended to full King size if
required. Storage is provided with a wardrobe, two under bed drawers
and two over bed lockers.
Moving forward again is a cupboard, then a second pump out toilet
and washbasin on the right, then into the lounge area which has
bench seating on either side that can be converted into single beds
or a very large double across the full width of the boat. This area
also has a 12volt TV, plus separate 240volt DVD player that is
operated from the Inverter - these can be moved to the dinette area
if required.
French doors at the front open out into the cratch area with its
cushioned seating with storage underneath.
The steel was built by Graham
Reeves and the internal fitting out was by Milburn Boats.

General Comments by vendor
If required an incoming owner can
elect to have the share changed to one where each year going
forward a school holiday priority
can be secured. Please contact the vendor if this option
appeals to you.
Tottleworth had a new
engine in 2010 and a complete external repaint two or three
years ago. The owners are currently upgrading various
aspects of the boat during each winter maintenance period -
last winter (2014/15) the galley work surfaces were renewed
and a new gas hob and 12volt refrigerator were installed,
the previous winter the bathroom was upgraded. This winter
(2015/16) the floor coverings are to be renewed.
The 58ft length of 'Tottleworth' means that it can cruise to
any part of the connected waterways - I have personally
taken it to the Lancaster canal, Bristol, Basingstoke Canal,
Wey navigation, Lee & Stort navigations and across all three
trans Pennine routes and up the tidal Trent. These trips
usually require arranging 'remote' changeovers but several
owners are willing to consider such arrangements - I
certainly am.
Tottleworth will be moored at Springwood Haven, near
Nuneaton, for 2016 and a move to another location is likely
to be discussed at our annual meeting - booked for Saturday
October 29th near Northampton.
Most of Tottleworth's owners have been with her since she
was launched in 2004, and several of us had shares in
'Sovereign' before that date.
We are a very happy group of 'Owners' and have successfully
managed the boat ourselves since the demise of 'OwnerShips'
in 2010 - we look forward to you joining us!
