Booking System
A booking chart for the
following year is circulated before the owners annual meeting.
Each owner can choose two weeks (separately or as a fortnight)
in the 'high season' (April to September inclusive) and one week
in the remainder of the year. Each owner has a priority for that
year and moves up a couple of places each year. Allowing time
for winter maintenance, the remaining weeks are bid for with
priority in reverse order to the original chart. After six years
the cycle begins again.
Priority for school holidays
Two designated "special" shares
at present (correct 2013) have
priority booking of school holiday weeks and pay a higher proportion of the
costs than "ordinary" shares thus reducing the other ten sharers
contributions.

General Comments by vendor
Huxley is a well thought
out narrow boat built by Milburn boats to a high standard
nicely finished off interior with diagonal planking.
Sleeping for six if desired in three separate areas. NB. the
boat is easily handled by two and as such provides spacious
accommodation.
The boat has a Webasto diesel fired central heating radiator
system, with push button control. When not using the central
heating a traditional multi-fuel stove burning wood or coal
brickets provides ample heat in the saloon.
Huxley has a Victron twin charging system installed, after
it was built, which allows charging of the batteries when
moored as well as 240 volt power from a shoreline.
The bow thrusters are hydraulic and make for easy
manoeuvring.
The satellite system mounted on the roof is self seeking and
provides a good picture to the flat screen monitor, there is
a position in the saloon and a TV point in the aft cabin.
All in all Huxley is a very comfortable and up to date
narrow boat.
