General Comments by vendor

The Narrow Escape has been a narrow boat Coop since the 1980s. The group consists of 12 shares, with shares becoming available to purchase from time to time.

We keep the ongoing costs low by not using a company to manage the boat and by not berthing it at a marina. This does mean some extra input from the members: 3-4 meetings per year plus two maintenance days when we gather at the boat to work on fixing problems and making improvements. However, these sessions are enjoyable and help in making a co-op a friendly group to be part of.

Canal boat experience isn’t essential as there's a range of jobs requiring different, or no particular skills. All that's required is a willingness to get involved.

Members enjoy very low cost boating holidays with the support of a friendly group of co-operators.
