Booking System
A booking chart for the following calendar year is circulated in agreed priority order in late summer before the owners’ annual meeting. Each owner has a priority for that year and can choose up to two weeks (separately or as a fortnight) in the ‘high season’ (April to October inclusive), and one week in the remainder of the year. After setting aside 4 weeks for winter maintenance (usually December), the remaining twelve weeks are booked with priority in reverse order to the original chart. Each owner moves up two places each year in the order of priority and after a year at the top drops to the bottom and the six year cycle begins again.
Priority for school holidays

Up to three sharers may take "school holiday" preference shares, for which they pay a premium of 25% on the running costs each year but get first choice of the school holiday weeks available. Currently (2017) there are NO share holders with this status on the boat.

LAYOUT & EQUIPMENT

The semi-trad rear deck provides for room for a friend and contains lockers with gas bottles, windlasses, mooring pins etc.

Steps down lead to an en-suite with useful waterproofs storage then the master bedroom with double bed (extendable to 5’), storage beneath & cupboards above and a full height wardrobe.

Through the privacy door there is a shower room (fitted 2017) with a spacious shower with folding doors. There's also a wash basin, pump-out WC, storage, radiator and extractor fan.

The galley has a good area of working top, numerous cupboards and of course oven/grill, fridge and microwave. The large adjacent hatch is great on warm days.

The dinette area follows, which is easily convertible to a double bed with comfortable, newly covered (2012)  L-shaped settee around an extendable table.

The saloon has 2 large comfortable armchairs which convert to beds and with a ‘modesty’ curtain. There is a flat-screen Freeview TV with DV
D and digital radio (fitted new in November 2017) and for additional heating a Villager Puffin’ stove. There is another full height wardrobe and additional storage space.

Through the full height French-window style doors the foredeck contains a large seating area useful for meals al fresco with lockers for hoses, barbecues etc. There is easy access to the water tank filler.

General Comments by vendor

Padworth is an attractive well maintained boat self managed by a group of friendly owners who undertake all of the management responsibilities.

Currently we have a chairman who coordinates the AGM when decisions are taken about such things as maintenance requirements and boat location. Other people take responsibility for finance, organising the booking chart and maintenance. The boat is insured for £44000.00 and we have RCR Gold cover.

Previously we have been moored at Great Haywood and Gayton. We are now at Wigrams Turn Marina but the boat will move in the spring of 2018 to Hilperton on the Kennet and Avon to explore that area for a year.

In recent years the boat has had a complete re-paint, new engine, gear box and axiom prop. Internally all seat fabrics and curtains have been replaced and the fuel burner upgraded. A complete refit of the shower room took place in 2017.

At the present time we have 9 owners, 3 of whom hold 2 shares each making a total of 12 shares.

We have comprehensive documentations for each owner about the features of the boat, how things work and what to do if there is a problem. We also require each owner to sign an agreement which sets out what is expected of each owner and how disputes can be resolved (a feature we've never had to use!).

Interested buyers can contact the vendor and arrange to see the boat which obviously has to fit in with other owners' usage. Sunday morning is generally the best time.
