Booking System |
Owners use a private online calendar to make
a provisional booking which must be confirmed within a fortnight of
it being entered. They also email other owners advising them of
their provisional plans. Bookings are for a maximum of two weeks at
a time with co-operation and due consideration for each others use.
- With five shares it is not possible to book a fortnight every
month. The summer months are the busiest.
Owners often plan together to have longer trips to see more of the
canal system handing over Pond Life to each other in a pre-agreed
sequence for a variable amount of days.
Owners also use the boat for short stays of one to four days or
week-ends. These often happen at short notice and other owners are
emailed so they are aware. Similarly, owners are emailed when a
booking has to be cancelled leaving the boat available for others'
use. |
Priority for school holidays |
Special holiday arrangements:
By mutual agreement between all owners. (During the summer the boat
has been out for several weeks at a time allowing owners to
continuously cruise and change over at different parts of the canal
system.) Consideration may be made for some weeks to be taken in
school holidays by mutual agreement but this is not guaranteed

General comments about the boat |
Starting at the semi trad stern,
there are storage cupboards (and a gas fired central heating boiler)
as you pass down the steps into the dinette lounge area (that
converts to a large double bed). There is a flat screen TV/DVD,
storage cupboards/lockers and a book/dvd/cruising guide library.
This leads into the galley which is provided with an oven & hob with
glass lid, a full size sink/drainer set in a green stone tiled
surface, a fridge with freezer compartment, plenty of storage
cupboards and a breakfast bar. This is the heart of the boat and
offers a versatile and comfortable living area.
Moving forward down the boat the bathroom is fitted out with a
corner bath with a shower over it, a pump out toilet, and a full
sized hand basin. The central corridor passes by a hanging wardrobe
and into the forward main bedroom with its own wash basin, where
there is a large double bed which extends across the width of the
boat. Storage is provided by further cupboards, and under-bed
lockers.
There is a single access door at the front opening onto the covered
cratch area. |

General Comments by vendor
|
Pond Life has always been a
private, shared-ownership boat. The present owners are
friendly, mature experienced boaters and we have enjoyed
sharing Pond Life with them: There is an annual AGM and
working parties held on board in early spring & late autumn.
The current marina is a very good base for cruising and the
facilities are excellent. Pond Life is available for use
throughout the year and is a well kept boat, providing a
very cost effective way of getting afloat especially if you
are looking for a share providing over 4 weeks use/year.
Pond Life has gas central heating throughout that can
provide additional hot water when required.
She has a Radio with CD player and a TV/DVD player.
There is a corner bath with shower, wash basin and a pump
out toilet and an additional wash basin in the front cabin.
The galley has a four ring gas cooker with grill and oven, a
fridge with a small freezer compartment, there is a newly
fitted sink, taps and tiled work surfaces.
Pond Life is well equipped with crockery, cutlery, bedding,
and provides very comfortable cruising for 4 adults.
She was re painted in 2007. New windows, curtains, cushions
and seats were added at the same time.
A new cratch cover was fitted in 2017 and a new tonneau
cover in 2009.
The bottom was blacked and the hull surveyed in November
2017.
The engine was re-conditioned in November 2014.
A new gear box and prop shaft were fitted in 2016.
A boat safety certificate was issued in November 2016.
