Booking System |
A booking chart for the following
calendar year is circulated in agreed priority order before the
owners’ annual meeting, where the bookings for the next year are
confirmed.
Each owner has a priority for that year, and moves up a couple
of places each year: after a year at the top of the list, the
owner then starts at the bottom, and after five years the cycle
begins again.
Each owner can choose two weeks (separately or as a fortnight)
in the ‘high season’ (April to October inclusive), and one week
in the remainder of the year.
Owners may then pick a fourth week, where the chart is turned on
its head and the person who was at the bottom gets first choice,
and the next etc.

General comments about the boat |
Torksey is a Hexagon built, reverse
layout, semi-trad style boat, benefiting from a full repaint
during the 2012-13 winter.
The rear cockpit has seating area on the port side with the gas
bottle storage in a locker beneath and shoreline socket to the
starboard.
Below the rear deck is a well-serviced 4 cylinder Nanni Diesel
engine, which powers an Axiom propeller and the bow thruster via
a hydraulic drive system. Also in the engine compartment are the
calorifier and battery banks.
Steps to the starboard side of the boat drop into the fitted
galley. To the port side is the hob with oven below, followed by
the stainless steel sink all set into granite style work
surfaces. Three cupboards beneath the work surfaces, include one
housing the Shoreline 12V fridge.
On the starboard side there is the electrical panel then a
cupboard/drawer unit housing the microwave and a display cabinet
over. The galley is well equipped with crockery, cutlery,
glasses and utensils.
This brings you to the dinette area, with a glazed opening side
hatch in the starboard wall. There is an L-shaped dinette, with
storage below, on the left, which sits six when using the drop
down bench opposite. The table stores neatly when not in use.
Forward of the dinette is a shelved cupboard and pullout freezer
below. A TV/DVD Player with satellite decoder is located in the
unit opposite the dinette.
From the dining area the a corridor runs along the starboard
side of Torksey with the main bathroom to the port containing a
corner shower, basin with storage under, pump-out toilet, heated
towel rail and 230 V shaver socket.
A door across the corridor separates the bedroom cabin from the
dining area. There is a memory foam mattress and extension
insert which creates a 5ft fixed double bed. Storage is provided
by drawers below the bed, a high level cupboard unit above the
bed and wardrobe housing the Alde gas boiler. The controls to
the Alde boiler are above the bed.
Another door separates the cabin from the forward saloon. Before
the saloon is the second toilet with pump out WC and basin, then
a slim shelved wardrobe. On the rear bulkhead of the saloon is
the second TV/DVD player, controller for auto-seeking satellite
dish, FM radio, 12 V and 230 V sockets. Seating either side of
the saloon with storage under can be used as single beds or
converted to form a full width double.
Glazed folding doors open on to the well deck with seating
either side and storage lockers under. There are removable
cushions for both the bow and stern seating which are kept on
the boat.
Both space heating (via three radiators distributed along the
main corridor and the bathroom towel rail) and water heating are
provided either by the Alde boiler or the engine cooling system.
A combi-inverter provides 230V power to 5 sockets distributed
throughout the boat.
Kardene flooring was fitted in the galley and dining area and
new carpet tiles to the rest of the boat in 2013, all cleaned
using the Dyson cylinder cleaner kept on board.

Here is the ideal
opportunity to join a successful group of boat-sharers, the
majority of whom bought the boat from new.
We are happy to answer any questions you have about the boat
and could arrange an inspection visit if required.
This IS one of three school holiday
share where three owners have priority of choosing school
holiday weeks therefore it will never fall below third in
the list for your first three weeks chosen.
The boat is regularly serviced and professionally maintained
by local marina workshop to a high standard and managed by
the syndicate members.
An AGM is called in November to discus any maintenance and
refurbishment issues to be carried out in the future and
whether to relocate the boat for the next calendar year.
The craft comes with useful additional extras such as
powerful hydraulic bow thrusters and a separate generous
sized freezer as well as the Shoreline fridge and separate
forward en-suite toilet .
