General comments about the boat
Venture was built and launched by Wessex Boats in 2002.

Venture has a cruiser stern and just inside the stern door is the main switch/fuse board. The rear bedroom has a fixed double bed with storage drawers underneath. The bathroom is fitted with a shower, wash basin and a Thetford cassette toilet. The galley houses a fridge, four ring gas hob, oven, sink and work surfaces. In the saloon the seating/dinette can be used as a single bed or converted into a double berth. In the saloon there is a radio, TV and DVD player - the TV operates from a satellite system.

Venture is heated by a Mikuni diesel boiler (housed in the engine compartment) heating three radiators, with the controls in the rear bedroom. Hot water is supplied via a calorifier.

General Comments by vendor

Venture had a complete re-paint (and sign writing) in the Autumn of 2011. In 2012 the plywood inserts in the fore, aft and galley doors were replaced with solid oak raised and fielded panels (not shown in the photographs).

She is managed and well maintained by her owners. Gas and 'mains electric' are shared costs paid from the annual running fees; diesel is re-filled and paid for, by each owner, at the end of a cruise in readiness for the next owner.

Animals are allowed but owners are in agreement that only ONE animal should be onboard at any one time, i.e. two or more dogs would not be acceptable.

Change over is, technically, 18.00hr on Sunday, however, the majority happen around early afternoon after communication between owners.

Having only six owners does make organising cruising dates, at the AGM, relatively straightforward. We have no complex booking system, folk just request the dates they would like, with any 'clashes' being quickly, and amicably, negotiated.

The AGM is set, in the Autumn, and is arranged to coincide with either the first or last Sunday cruising of the owner who lives farthest away. The meeting is a pleasant social gathering where we also have lunch together.

Venture does not have a 'high-turnover' of owners ... the most recent joined in 2011.
