In early 2010 boatshare co uk did a survey among those that
had used the free board to advertise their share in a boat for sale, rather than
place a paid advert on the main part of the site.
The overwhelming opinion was that whilst one of two had sold, most had not AND
the person placing the advert was going to try elsewhere with advertising,
having become disillusioned with the ability of this site to sell shares. This
is in stark contrast to the fact that the featured adverts actually do sell
shares very well.
However, the section has been retained but anyone advertising on there is asked
to consider a paid advert next time should their share not sell.
